I think one of the reasons why the Wii is so successful in the PT industry is because it engages the competitive nature of patients. A good majority of injuries can result from sports or other competitive physical activities, resulting in the patient wanting to win. I am interested to see if the new introduction of movement sensitive hardware to the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 will be making their way to offices next.

I personally love Wii for physical therapy. It is engaging and very helpful! I work for Cirrus Allied, and we place traveling physical therapists in locations across the country. Wii is a great tool for them to bring on the road, and expose more clinics to its benefits. (Plus, it can keep the physical therapists entertained on their downtime!)

I really enjoyed the post! You should check out my blog at CirrusAlliedBlog.com for entertaining and helpful tips like this!
